HOMO FABER GUIDE 2021. Jewellery designer and silversmith Katarina Henriksson developed an interest in metal forging as a child, when she watched her father work with iron and copper at the lamp factory where he was a mechanic. After graduating from the Academy of Art and Design in Gothenburg, silversmithing became her passion and livelihood. Her studio is located in the coastal community Skärhamn, on the island Tjörn on the Swedish west coast.

Without the funds to pay for a course, she contacted an axe factory and asked if she could work to pay for the training. Since 2016, she’s been making high quality axes for craftspeople and office workers alike.
